What is this biomarker and how do we record it?

With the Creighton Model FertilityCare System you will learn how to chart your cervical mucus with standardized terminology. This will help you understand you time of fertility so that you can make informed decisions based on your pregnancy intentions and appreciate your fertility as a natural working of the female, human body.

What else can knowing your cycle do for you?

Life doesn’t come without struggle. Many women have issues related to their cycles. What better way to fully understand your issues than by fully understanding your body. With the information that we glean from your chart, you can see patterns develop that can be indicative of organic causes. With a simple look at your chart your Medical Consultant (Dr., PA, NP) can recognize these patterns and begin to mange the root causes.

What issues can a Medical Consultant help you with?

Medical Consultants (Dr., PA, NP) are trained, not only in reading your chart, but in treating the underlying diseases or causes of your gynecologic issues. These issues may be physical or hormonal. Medical Consultants are the experts and I will help you prepare for your visit so that you may get the most out of your time with them.

How is this different than a phone app or other methods?

This system takes your entire fertility and gives you a full picture. Instead of relying on the calendar rhythm method to give you an estimate of when your menses or window of fertility may begin, we look at one of your body’s biomarkers so that you can see when your fertility starts and ends in a clear and standardized way. There is no guessing with this system.
Unlike methods that involve taking your temperature and plotting it (which can be unreliable if you have an illness or a warmer blanket one night) or using expensive LH strips that may miss your window of fertility because of a lack of adequate surge in your body or because you ovulated on your second “peak” instead of the first, this method accounts for illnesses and double peaks. We provide information and instructions for any possible change your body may go through and I will be there every step of the way to guide you through.

Who is the Creighton Model FertilityCare System for?

Anyone of any age and stage can use this system. From the beginning of your cycles as a young teen, to the stage of perimenopause where your cycles start to become less frequent and stable. The system can be used if you have endometriosis, PCOD, are postpartum breastfeeding, have anovulatory cycles, and many others. The model is catered to you and changed as your life changes so that you can use it no matter what.

How do we begin?

After an introductory session where I give you information about your basic anatomy and physiology, how the charting works, and some more important information. you will begin charting every day. We will then meet every few weeks to solidify your knowledge. Eventually we will get to once a year follow-ups and you will have confidence in knowing your own body.
